MouCo Boo® Baked Apples with Bacon & Hot Honey

Baked apples stuffed with MouCo Boo® cheese and crispy bacon, finished with a drizzle of hot honey for a sweet, smoky, and spicy fall dish.

Sweet-tart baked apples meet creamy MouCo Boo®, smoky bacon, and a drizzle of hot honey. The apples soften in the oven, the cheese turns molten, and the whole dish balances savory, sweet, and spicy in one gooey, autumn-ready bite.

🧂 Ingredients

  • 2 large baking apples (Honeycrisp or Braeburn work well)
  • ½ round MouCo Boo® cheese (about 60 g), cut into small cubes
  • 2 strips thick-cut bacon, cooked until crisp and chopped
  • 2 Tbsp hot honey (or honey + chili flakes)
  • 1 Tbsp butter, melted
  • Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary, for garnish

👣 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Core apples, leaving the bottoms intact to form little “cups.”
  3. Brush the inside and tops of each apple with melted butter; sprinkle lightly with cinnamon if desired.
  4. Stuff each apple cavity with cubes of MouCo Boo® and chopped bacon.
  5. Place apples upright in a small baking dish. Bake 20–25 minutes, until the apples are tender and the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from oven. Drizzle hot honey generously over the tops while still warm.
  7. Garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary and serve immediately.

🎯 Notes & Pairings

  • Apple tip: Choose firm varieties that hold shape — Honeycrisp, Braeburn, or Jonagold.
  • Heat level: Hot honey brings a kick, but you can adjust with milder honey or add extra chili for more spice.
  • Pairing: A dry cider or bourbon cocktail ties perfectly with the smoky-sweet flavors.
